VOLUNTEERS
At Feast and Fallow, we are passionate about a lot of things: good bread and coffee, creating spaces of belonging, and doing good in the world and in our own community. Big portions of what Feast and Fallow does every week is made possible by volunteers. Having a strong volunteer program will allow us to give back as much as we can to the cause of food system reform.
Our volunteer program gives people like you, the opportunity to serve while gaining some great professional cafe, kitchen, and barista skills. We will provide thorough training, covering foundational basics in coffee, kitchen prep, event hosting/planning, management and more. We will cover theory and go all the way through to making excellent cups of coffee and espresso based drinks. There will also be lots of opportunity to share about the work we do in the local slow-food movement, all the while creating opportunities for meaningful customer interactions.
We require the following:
- Has a passion for community, bread, coffee, people and having fun!
- Able to commit to one shift per week.
Shift times to fall between the following hours: Tuesday-Saturday 6:00am-3:30pm
- Able to commit to serving at Feast and Fallow as a volunteer for at least 3 months
- Must have clean hygiene.
- Volunteer commitment shouldn’t be treated as less than working a normal job. Since we rely largely on volunteers, we need reliable people who are committed to showing up.
No cafe/barista experience necessary, just a desire to learn. :)
